Huldah Momanyi Biograph:Huldah Momanyi is a Kenyan-American political candidate running to represent Minnesota’s District 38A in the U.S. House of Representatives. Born in Magombo, Nyamira County, Kenya, Momanyi relocated to the United States with her family in the 1990s. Her father had migrated earlier, and their move fulfilled a longstanding dream of joining him in America.
Momanyi has a background in community leadership and advocacy for women’s empowerment. She won the title of Miss Africa Minnesota in 2011, promoting causes related to women’s health and education. Inspired by her Kenyan roots, she also founded SaniNaps, a nonprofit that provides reusable sanitary products and educational resources to young girls in Kenya, with a mission to improve girls’ educational outcomes by addressing basic needs that often hinder school attendance.
